Migrating from Snowflake connectors to the Integrate UI
This guide outlines the approach to migrating you from the V1 or V2 Snowflake connectors to the Media Delivery integration. The goal is to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruptions to your access to Scope3 data.
Key Changes
The recommended approach to accessing Scope3 emissions data is via the new "Integrate" section of our UI. This integration benefits from increased scalability, dedicated tooling, and deep integration in the CSP.
Delivery data can be uploaded either directly through the browser or pushed to a cloud bucket. You can see additional detail on Media delivery in this overview.
Integrate UI will replace our official Snowflake connectors.
If you do not have access to the Integrate feature, please contact [email protected]
Migration Steps
To begin migrating from the Snowflake connector to Media Delivery via Integrate UI:
- Set up a Media Delivery integration. Delivery data can be exported from Snowflake and uploaded as a CSV file to Media Delivery. See our detailed setup guide and walk-through videos here.
- [optional] Snowflake has official support for cloud buckets. This means much of the transfer process between Snowflake and the Media Delivery can be automated using built-in Snowflake functionality. Read more in the official docs.
- Decommission your Snowflake connector integration. Calls to this connector will not work from the beginning of 2025
FAQ
Can I continue to use my V1 or V2 Snowflake connector?
The existing Snowflake connectors will work until the end of 2024. This time period is to enable a graceful migration to the Media Delivery integration.
Can I continue to query the latest measurement integration directly from Snowflake?
Currently there is no official connector directly from Snowflake into the V2 APIs. The recommended migration path is to use cloud buckets and the Media Delivery integration to request emissions data on delivered impressions. If this is a required please reach out to your Scope3 contact.
I am using the V2 Snowflake connector. Does that mean I’m on the most up-to-date integration?
The Snowflake V2 connector is an improved version of the Snowflake V1 connection. However, both still connect to an underlying V1 endpoint that is in the process of being decommissioned. It is recommended you move both V1 or V2 Snowflake connectors when possible.
