Migrating from Google Sheets Integration to the Integrate UI

This guide outlines the approach to migrating your from the V1 Google sheet integration to the Integrate UI. The goal is to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruptions to your access to Scope3 data.

The Google Sheets integration uses our soon-to-be-deprecated V1 endpoint (1st January 2025). As part of our V2 release, we introduced the Integrated UI, which offers a simple way to access Scope3 data via our APIs.

Integrate UI offers a simple browser-based way to generate emissions reports on the Scope3 platform. This approach uses the Scope3 Media Delivery Integration and is recommended for quickly generating CSV emissions reports.

Key Changes

You will no longer need to set up a Google Sheet with the Scope3 Apps Script attached. From now on, you will upload data directly to the Integrate UI.

Before proceeding, ensure you have access to the Integrate feature of the Scope3 platform.

To access the Integrate feature, click here or navigate to the Integrate tab on the left side of the UI.

If you do not have access to the Integrate feature, please contact [email protected]

Migration Steps

  1. Become familiar with the Integrate feature within the Scope3 UI. Our walk-through videos are an excellent place to begin that journey.
  2. Set up a Media Delivery Integration. A simple step by step is available in the docs. Only steps 1 and 2 of the guide are required to generate an emissions report. See below for a helpful template file you can modify and upload.
  3. Upload a file with your inventory details. See the Media Delivery guide for details on each field.
  4. Upload the populated file using the upload button on the Integrate activity page.
  5. View and download your report.

Template CSV file

Copy and paste the following into a .csv file. Replace the content with the inventory you want to model.

impressions,utc_datetime,inventory_id,channel,network,device_type,image_sizes_pixels,audio_duration_seconds,video_duration_seconds,other_assets_bytes

FAQ

Can I continue to use the Google Sheet?

The Google Sheet uses V1 APIs that will be decommissioned in early 2025. The sheet will continue to work until then, but it is recommended you move to the new approach as soon as possible to ensure future proofing and access to the latest Scope3 improvements.

Is there an example file I can upload to Integrate UI?

An example file will be provided for use by Scope3 users soon.

What fields should be included in the exported report?

To map to the fields in the current Google Sheet, you should configure the report export to have the following fields:

  • climate_risk_compliate
  • media_distribution_emissions_grams
  • ad_selection_emissions_grams
  • creative_delivery_consumer_device_emissions_grams
  • media_distribution_consumer_device_emissions_grams
  • media_distribution_emissions_grams
  • total_emissions_grams
